The Summit Club Histoire
The
Summit Club, founded in 1972 by a group of business and professional
leaders, has a purpose to provide a superior entertainment and meeting
place; one of dignity, both in physical elegance and in the character
of its membership.
From atop the twentieth floor, in regal 18th century appointments, members and guests enjoy a commanding view of Columbia, the State Capitol, the University of South Carolina, and historic Trinity Cathedral.
The
coat of arms portrays a prosperous crossroads city springing from the
intersection of Gervais and Sumter Streets. Situated in a “Rich and
Fertile Land,” Richland County. The columbs, or doves, signify the
city at the heart of this land. The silver tower of the crest
represents the building at this intersection, of which the club is the
Summit.
