Rising twenty stories above one of America's most beautiful cities, Columbia, SC, The Summit Club is truly one of America's most beautiful city clubs. From the moment you enter its gracious, inviting lobby, you realize that this is a singular place. The tastefully understated decor... the glow of rich, warm paneling... the handsome antique furnishings... the courtly attentiveness of the staff... and the remarkable quality of the cuisine... all signify a deep reverence for tradition shared by The Summit Club's Members and Management. This is a place where friends and business acquaintances can be as private as they wish. A place where conversations can actually be heard across the dinner table, but not across the room. Yet a place where the conviviality of a corporate function or wedding reception is comfortably at home.
Especially at day's end, the views from The Summit Club are breathtaking... the historic state capitol building and grounds... the tree-shrouded campus of the University of South Carolina... the gas-light bridge over the Congaree River... the majesty of Trinity Cathedral... all conspire to make dinner at the Club an experience to cherish and a marvelous way to entertain friends. Meals are served in the spacious Main Dining Room, as well as in smaller private rooms that may be reserved for special occasions. The private dining rooms can accommodate two to eighteen guests for intimate luncheons or dinners. In addition, the Club's Founders Lounge, East Room and Main Dining Room can be reserved for private functions for up to 300 guests.
The
Board of Governors and
Management of The Summit Club have always been keenly sensitive to the process of enhancing the
benefits of membership. Accordingly, Members of The Summit Club now enjoy reciprocal privileges with many private clubs throughout the nation, including clubs in New York and Washington, DC. In addition, the
calendar is filled with special events, including Family Nights, elaborate Mothers' Day and Easter Buffets, and other Holiday Luncheons. Every effort is made to ensure that
Membership in The Summit Club is every bit as exceptional as the Club itself. Perhaps this is the reason that even after a quarter of a century, The Summit Club remains the standard by which private clubs are measured in the South.
